StreetScapes 2007
Best of Show and artist Kevin G. Rountree
In addition to the performing arts, StreetStage included a visual component, StreetScapes. This was an exhibit and competition of chalk and pastel street art in the tradition of 16th Century Italian street painters,
Madonnari,
who travelled around Italy creating their art as a way to make a living. Money was thrown on the work to show approval.
This exhibition / competition was open to artists and teams of artists over 15 years of age, a chance to give the artists visibility, hone skills, and participate in a healthy competition among other area artists and groups. |
